Senior Software Engineer // Node.js/Go/Rust

Seattle, WA

One of our partners is significantly expanding their services and product offerings and we’re looking for senior-level, backend-focused software engineers to help the team become more efficient as they scale through a hyper-growth phase. This development team will have far-reaching impacts across the entire organization. You’ll integrate closely with the existing team of engineers and have a nice balance between ownership and collaboration.

You'll bring strong backend and microservices development skills in Node.js, along with the willingness to dig into other languages such as Rust. Our client is willing to invest in someone with strong backend talents who also has the passion to learn new technologies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work the full stack from backend microservices to consumer-facing interfaces

  • Design and develop backend services, we are building a microservices platform using Rust

  • Maintain and retire elements of our legacy systems written in Node.js

  • Work in a DevOps environment where you are accountable for your systems

  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug software

  • Writing high-quality, clean, and maintainable code for backend services while providing consulting expertise and collaborating with engineering and product stakeholders

  • Mentor less experienced engineers, and shape the practices and culture of the team

  • Communicating clearly, professionally, and consistently with your team and your client

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • 8+ years’ hands-on software engineering in a production-level environment

  • Professional experience with some subset of our stack: Node.js, Rust, GRPC, k8, Docker, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL

  • Professional experience supporting other teams within an organization and help build tools to ensure their success and scale

  • Professional experience in a DevOps environment

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; you function well autonomously with drive and self-direction, but you’re also comfortable being part of a team and working in partnership with your engineering colleagues

  • You are reliable, responsible, consistent, nice, and passionate about what you do

We pay competitively and have excellent healthcare and other benefits. This is a long term, remote consulting opportunity, based in Seattle, WA. Thank you!
