We’re working with one of our favorite long term clients, seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help build data solutions that meet ever growing needs to understand customer behaviors and preferences, and to drive success in creating personalized, relevant and enticing experiences across e-commerce, CRM and marketing platforms.
This position (which can be performed 100% remotely) requires a grasp of the big picture, a high sense of ownership of the problems, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with objectives, great communication with stakeholders, and the hands-on expertise to implement designs and proactively escalate issues. You have deep technical expertise in the data ecosystem (SQL, Redshift, Python, ETL) and have a strong understanding of working with data and business intelligence. You’ll collaborate across the organization and provide the analytic technologies that give business and product owners timely, flexible and structured access to their data.
What You’ll do:
In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the rapidly growing customer data platform by building efficient, flexible, extensible, and scalable ETL design and mappings. You will architect, prototype, and implement data processing pipelines for analytics needs. You’ll work closely with the data engineering team to design, build and document automated scripts/data pipelines that assemble large complex datasets from various sources and integrate them into a unified view. And you will identify, design, and implement operational improvements which include automating manual processes, data quality checks, error handling and recovery, and infrastructure redesign as needed. Additionally, you will also:
Create greenfield data models that will allow analytics and business teams to derive insights about customer behaviors
Write complex SQL queries to support analytics needs
Design, implement, and maintain high performing ETL workflows
Create reporting and visualization using BI tools
Collaborate with other engineering and business teams to support project needs
What you bring to the table:
Significant experience with relational SQL and (nice to have) NoSQL databases
Deep experience with ETL data workflows
Experience with Redshift, and (nice to have) AWS (or equivalent) cloud services: EC2, EMR, DynamoDB, etc.
Experience with Python
Solid understanding of how to integrate data from multiple data sources, create data pipelines and workflows
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience with Agile, version control software and SDLC best practices
You’re a self-starter with the skills and abilities to learn quickly on the fly, think outside the box and come up with creative solutions for rapidly evolving business needs and specifications
